Seeing the Sites of DC

Parking is not easy in DC but can be done!!!
On Street – There is on-street parking but it is limited and you need to read the many signs telling you if and when you can park. There is free parking, in some places,  along the Mall, particularly during the working day and weekends. It can be for 2 or 3 hours but not during rush hours both am and pm. There is also metered parking on  the side streets.

Garage- There are a number of  garage parking locations just off the Mall area. They are in the basements of  office blocks and not always obvious to spot. The cost is about $20 for all day.  You pay less if only staying for 1 hour but any more and it is a full day rate.  Some of these garages have valet parking and you have to leave your car keys  with them. A number of them shut after office hours so are not available in the  evenings. The locations can be found at bestparking.com

Old Town Trolley Tours
If you have visitors and would like to take an Old Town Trolley Tour with them you don’t have pay if you get a ‘Hometown Pass’. All residents of DC  and the surrounding area can download a pass and can travel free when  accompanying a full paid adult. The pass also covers the Monuments by  Moonlight Tour and the DC Ducks Tours. The pass can be  found at the Old Town Trolley Tours
website
