Niagara
One of the "must see sights" in USA. Spectacular views whatever the season. Can be viewed from both USA & Canada.

"We used "department of defence lodging" which is open to all CAC card holders. We stayed near Niagara Falls at the reserve air force base. We got 2 rooms one was a suite, the other was directly across the corridor. The rooms were really lovely. Clean, very well equiped and above all very affordable at $39 and $48 each! (2010) "

"We did the premier tour which includes pickup from your hotel, lunch, maid of the mist, skylon tower, journey behind the falls, white water walk and
more. Well worth it, as all admission fees are included and you get to do a fair bit of queue jumping too."The Falls are illuminated nightly - hours vary by season. As of Feb 2011 the firework schedule for the year has not yet been issued. See the Niagara Parks website for schedules. Another recommendation is to stay on the Canadian side. Several recommendations for the Embassy Suites For spectacular views of both the Canadian & American Falls select a
room on the higher floors which specify that they have a view. The window are floor to ceiling, wall to wall. These rooms offer the unusual spectacle of
being able to look down on the fireworks. The Keg restaurant within the hotel has great views of the Falls.
Consider visiting in the winter when the lower river is frozen. The falls still flow, but the spray falls as ice droplets. Wrap up well as the temperatures can be very low. "Our clothes & eyelashes became frozen!" The Maid of the Mist & Behind the Falls tour are closed, but the natural views are outstanding.
